Erp directive (2009/125/EC) - Regulation (EC) No 327/20155

Directive 2009/125/EC Energy-related-Products-ErP (alias: products that affect energy consumption), also known as Eco-design, is a framework directive that relies on specific implementing regulations to define the design requirements of all energy-powered products; It is the most important initiative taken by the EU to improve energy efficiency by 20% by the year 2020.

The eco-friendly design of electric engines (IE2, IE3) regulated by Regulation (EC) no 640/2009 falls within this logic.

Instead, Regulation (EU) No 327/2011 is applicable to fans with electrical power supplies ranging from 125W to 500kW. This sets the minimum efficiency levels required to be launched on the European market for the first time. The performance levels prescribed for fans were introduced in two phases: an initial implementation period that started on 1 January 2013 and a second one on a higher level from 1 January 2015.

So-called “ATEX” fans those used to extract smoke fumes during a fire, those with a fluid operating temperature greater than 100° C, those for highly corrosive environments and those destined for use outside the European market are not covered by regulation 327/2011. We have introduced models and series featuring engines and/or innovative and more efficient impellers, sometimes with markedly different technical characteristics from their predecessors.
